Livingston, known in Scots as Leivinstoun and in Scottish Gaelic as Baile Dhunlèibhe, is the largest town in West Lothian, Scotland. Established in 1962, it is recognized as the fourth post-war new town in Scotland. Named after a pre-existing village, the town was developed along the banks of the River Almond and spans the historical counties of Midlothian and West Lothian. Livingston is located approximately fifteen miles (25 km) west of Edinburgh and thirty miles (50 km) east of Glasgow, with neighboring towns including Broxburn to the north-east and Bathgate to the north-west. The town was constructed around a cluster of smaller villages, which includes Livingston Village, Bellsquarry, and Livingston Station (now part of Deans). It features various residential areas such as Craigshill, Howden, Ladywell, Knightsridge, Deans, Dedridge, Murieston, Almondvale, Eliburn, Kirkton, and Adambrae.
In the painting and decorating industry good preparation is imperative. This can not be emphasised enough when attempting to get the best results on a project. Any tradespeople who avoid this important stage in the process are clearly in the wrong profession. Inexperienced painters and decorators can often overlook important things such as knotting or sealing walls before lining them. This means that they will never get a long lasting finish and good quality job that lots of knowledge and experience can bring.
